Well, I’m a socialist, so I’m sure I’d be able to help you out in regards to the far-left viewpoint. We believe in universal health care and that everyone deserves an equal chance at getting quality health care regardless of how rich or poor someone is. Most Western European countries have universal health care and all of them have equal or higher life expectancies than the United States. It America, our currently privatized insurance and health care system leaves roughly 47 million Americans uninsured and therefor unable to afford proper health care.
Payment for this health care would be achieved by raising taxes, which conservatives and republicans oppose, although taxes would barely affect the poor and middle class. It would only be the very rich who already have money to spare who would slightly feel the effect of universal health care. Even still, it would not prevent them from still being ultra-rich. This is made especially clear by how the sixth richest man alive (Ingvar Kamprad, owner of Ikea) is a citizen of socialist Sweden, which has one of the highest life expectancies and overall life-satisfaction rating of any country in the world. But history has shown that the conservative right generally only has the interests of the rich capitalists in mind, and it is a firm belief of the socialist party that anyone unwilling to pay a little more out of their taxes to help the population of their country is deeply selfish.
