I am 15 and weigh 145 lbs- 140 and am 5″4-”5. I want to lose 20/10 pounds or so in two or three months. I think the number of calories a normal teenager should eat is 2600 or something, right?
How many calories should I consume while dieting?

LOL
there is no RANDOM number for a NORMAL teenager or girl or boy.
our caloric requirements are based on our current bodyweight and/or current condition. period.
to lose fat, YOU, based on 140lbs, need to eat approx. 1700 calories. and this is just a place starter.
to be more detailed and precise, you have to know how much of each macronutrient too. macronutrients are protein/carbs/fats
see, 1700 calories from carbs will make ur body do not so cute things.
whereas, 566 cals from carbs AND 566 cals from protein AND 566 cals from fats will make your body do better things.
and, 200 cals from carbs AND 850 cals from protein AND 650 cals from fat will make your body do magical things.
see my point? i hope so
good luck!
oh ya, people who only diet to lose fat almost ALWAYS gain it back. the key to keeping it off is to lose it with diet + cardio + lifting weights.
A normal teenager should consume ariund 1600-1800 calories do maintain a normal weight. If this teenager is an athlete and very active then somewhere around 2000-3000 calories is acceptable.
The amount you should eat while dieting to lose that much weight is around 1200 calories.
Good luck!
