If I Choose To Focus On One Aspect Of My Diet To Improve Health, What Would Be The Most Important?

I plan to work up to more but I want to make the biggest difference at first. Should I focus most on calories, fat, fiber, carbs, or some other aspect of my diet? Also, please explain why you suggest a specific aspect over another.

We don’t know your diet so we can’t give you a perfect answer. However we can talk like you have a normal American diet.
Chances are you eat too many empty calories. If you’re trying to improve your health, you could go for 3 mile runs every day and burn at least an extra 300 calories, not counting the calories burned with an increased metabolism post workout.
Or, you could make smarter food choices. 3 miles to run is not too bad for some people as far as difficulty goes, but it does take a decent time commitment. Instead, if you were to eat 3 less chips ahoy cookies, or avoid 2 cans of Pepsi, or stay away from chips you could lose those 300 calories right there with NO extra time commitment
If you already do not eat sweets, then I recommend trying to lower the fat in your diet. Drink 1% or skim milk. When you eat meat, make it a lean meat like fish, chicken or turkey as often as you can. Avoid fast food at all costs. Large McDonalds milkshakes have 1100 calories in them alone!
Chances are you’re fine as far as carbs go. Anything processed generally has some carbs in it. Fiber is always good to eat more of. It’ll keep you “regular” and get your heart healthier.

Eat organic veggies, fruits, legumes (beans, peas) and grains.
Once you get used to eating this way, your body will stop craving high-fat calorie-laden foods. Eventually, fast food will seem repulsive to you.
You might still have a burger every few months, just to see how bad it makes you feel; sort of like that hangover you swore you’d never experience again.
When you start filling yourself up with healthy organic foods, you leave no room for junk.
Keep in mind that you’ll have to carry a snack with you all the time when you make the change. Healthy foods are not heavy and lingering like fatty snacks. Almonds are a good one for ‘grazing’.
We were not meant to eat a huge meal every day.
Go to the store and buy every frozen organic veggie on sale. Buy fresh and/or frozen organic greens, carrots, beans, sprouts, bananas, apples, oranges, avocados, tomatoes, berries…
Sprouted grain breads are a bit stiff, but they are filling and satisfying, and you come to love, even crave, them.
Drink plenty of natural mountain spring water taken from very, very deep wells. It will help you to fill full and cleanse past food-borne chemicals from your body.
The most important thing in improving your health is to decide that organic produce, beans, and breads are not “too expensive”.
Your health is far more valuable.

first of all a lot of calories are consumed through drinks, just drink a lot of water, if u like sweetener in coffee or tea, add stevia which is 0 calorie and all natural.
second eat fruits and vegetables, buy a vegetarian cook book if you are completely clueless, u can always add meat to the recipes.
third Dont fry anything, just bake or saute in olive, or coconut oil. and of course you can eat pasta! especially if u need energy, just buy whole wheat- you’ll get use to it.
