When You Breastfeed And Get A Cold Or The Flu?

When a mother who is breastfeeding only gets a cold or the flu passing on the antibodies to her baby that she is making for herself to fight off her illness? Is the child less likely to contract that illness?

yes the antibodies your body makes is helping your baby fight getting the cold. i had a cold while i was breastfeeding and my son never got it.

I really think you pass the antibodies on to them.. My baby has not been sick and she is 8 months old now. We have been around it all! But then again I have seen other breastfed babies get sick. Just make sure you and your baby get enough sleep and eat healthy. It seems to work for us. I don’t seem to get sick either!
